On Saturday at 5:45 pm the Seneca Falls Police Department arrested John A. Eagan Jr, 56, of Auburn following a personal injury crash on Bradley Ave.
Eagan was eastbound on Bradley Avenue delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service when he fell out of the vehicle while it was still moving.
Police say the vehicle continued traveling eastbound, driverless, crossing the roadway before coming to rest in a hedgerow.
Eagan sustained several abrasions as a result of the accident. He was checked over by North Seneca Ambulance but refused medical treatment.
During the investigation it was determined that Eagan was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class E Felony due to a prior DWI conviction in 2019, reckless driving, a misdemeanor, no seat belt and failure to give on half of the roadway, the latter two being violations.
Eagan was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
