Blue-green algae spotted on Conesus Lake: Residents urged to avoid for time being

Blue-green algae has been found on Conesus Lake.

Health officials say it isn’t impacting the public water supply, but residents are being advised to not use the lake water directly- or swim near the blooms.

Blue-green algae can cause rashes, nausea, and upper-respiratory issues.
