The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 30 around 3 p.m. deputies responded to the area of State Route 414 and West Wycoff Road in Ovid for a three-car accident with injuries.
The operators of the vehicles involved were identified as Annja Aho, 54, of Lodi, Zechariah Champion, 18, of Lodi, and Samuel Butts, 52, of Seneca Falls.
Deputies say while heading south on Route 414 an uninvolved vehicle braked suddenly to miss an animal that came out into the roadway- causing Aho to brake suddenly.
Champion was unable to stop and struck the back of Aho’s vehicle. Butts was also unable to stop and struck the rear of Champion’s vehicle.
Deputies say Aho was transported by Hector Ambulance to Cayuga Medical Center for treatment. Champion was transported by South Seneca Ambulance to the same facility for treatment.
All vehicles involved sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Deputies say South Seneca Ambulance, Hector Ambulance, the Lodi Fire Department, and the Ovid Fire Department assisted.
