Deputies: Trumansburg man possessed controlled substance at time of traffic stop

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Trumansburg man following a traffic stop in Covert.

Robert Heroux, 46, was stopped for speeding while traveling north on Route 96, according to deputies. Upon further investigation he was found to have a suspended license and a warrant out of Tompkins County.


He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Heroux was issued tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
