Finger Lakes Classical Academy is slowly becoming a reality in the City of Auburn.
Maureen Angotti, founder, says the charter school will offer traditional education, the way it has been for almost 2500 years. She states, “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it,” and expressed going back to how things used to work.
Bobby Massarini states bussing will be provided to students within a 15 mile radius, and students who wanted to attend but were outside the bus limits could be brought in by their parents.
The academy has the support of the Auburn School Superintendent as well as other educators and local politicians.
The hope is for the tuition free academy to open in the fall of 2022.
