Steven R. Tarr, of Williamsport PA, met a mother in August of 2019 on a social media site and moved in with her at her home in Williamson in January of 2020.
Tarr was taken in for a mental health evaluation in February of 2020 for threatening to commit suicide. At the time the mother’s daughter, age 4, revealed he had been sexually abusing her.
Upon release he immediately returned to Pennsylvania.
A case was built and a Wayne County Grand Jury indicted him on May 17 2021 in a sealed indictment for two counts of Felony Sexual Abuse in the First Degree; two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of Possession of a Sexual Performance of a Child.
State troopers in Pennsylvania located him as a fugitive from justice and returned him to Wayne County on June 22.
He is remanded to jail on $15,000 cash-$30,000 bond. A Felony hearing is scheduled for July 15.
