Police say they are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the city of Ithaca during the early morning hours on Sunday.
IPD is investigating an assault that took place on West State Street. Officers were called to a person who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers didn’t locate a victim- but did observe blood in the sidewalk.
Officers followed a blood trail, which led to IPD headquarters.
The victim was located at headquarters and first aid was rendered to the person. They were eventually airlifted to a regional trauma center due to a significant amount of blood loss.
The victim was not able to provide officers with a description of the suspect due to medical condition.
The investigation is active, police say, and anyone with information regarding it is asked to call 607-272-3245.
