Police say a Penn Yan woman was taken into custody on a child endangerment charge following an investigation into a small child who was running alone on Maiden Lane in the village.
According to police, two Penn Yan Academy students stopped a three-year-old boy and attempted to locate the child’s parents before calling 911.
Haley Labarr, 26, was unaware that her child left her residence and was running in the roadway.
As result she was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The charge will be answered at a later date.
