The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a Rochester man on June 22 following an investigation into drug sales and an assault of a police officer.
James Murray, 33, of Rochester was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree assault after the incident.
It’s alleged that Murray possessed a large amount of crack cocaine and had the intent to sell it. While attempting to take Murray into custody- he resisted the officer’s efforts, resulting in his injury.
The officer, who was not identified, was sent to Thompson Hospital for treatment and released.
The Canandaigua Police Department was assisted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Murray was transported to the Ontario County Jail where he was held without bail.
