Mets first baseman Pete Alonso will participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 12 at Coors Field in Colorado.
The reigning Derby champion — All-Star festivities did not take place in 2020 — announced it via Instagram on Wednesday:

Alonso won it in 2019 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, beating Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays in the final round to take the crown.
n addition to Alonso, Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani will also be competing in the Derby.
Other potential competitors could include Guerrero, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Ronald Acuña Jr.
