Seneca County Fair to return after cancellation last year

The Seneca County Fair will return this year from July 21 through 24.

The fair will be at the fairgrounds, 100 Swift St., and sponsored by the Seneca County Agricultural Society.

It was decided on May 20 by the society’s Board of Directors to resume the fair this year.

Due to Covid there was no Seneca County Fair last year, which was only the fourth time since it began in 1841 it did not happen.

The only other times were the years 1941-42 when the land was used to house workers building the Seneca Army Depot and in 1945 when all events were cancelled by the government during the war.

Admission is free and any state guidelines regarding Covid that are in place will be followed at that time.

The Ontario County Fair will also be returning from July 27-31. Wayne and Yates County fairs were cancelled for the second year in a row.
