New Vines Winery in the Finger Lakes will celebrate turning 10 this year.
In celebration, the winery will have a day of tastings and tours on June 26. Guests can purchase tickets for $15 and enjoy wine, charcuterie and a tour. Advanced reservations can be made here.
In 2007 Todd and Dani Eichas of Rochester retired to the Finger Lakes to build a bed and breakfast on Seneca Lake and begin their adventures in growing grapes. The New Vines Winery was opened soon after in 2011.
The winery’s one acre of grapes produces around 300 cases of Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Lemberger, Cabernet Franc, and Marquette Rosé.
Todd takes pride in growing his vineyard and in the beginning noted the support and help he obtained from the Finger Lakes wine community. In return he’s made contributions to the local wine industry and is often seen working in the garden at Fox Run Vineyards during harvest season.
New Vines Winery is open May through November and reservations must be made by calling (315) 536-4087.
