A SUNY Cortland alum will be going to Oregon to compete in the U.S. Olympic trials.
In 2017 Jack Flood won NCAA Division III titles in the heptathlon indoors and decathlon outdoors competitions.
Since then he has improved his own personal best score in the decathlon and ranks 5th nationally and 25th in the world.
`
He has been training for the Olympics full time without sponsorship and is able to cover necessary costs with supper from his GoFundMe page.
The competition is this weekend in Eugene, Oregon and if he wins a spot on Team USA will be able to compete in the Tokyo Summer Olympics. He will need to land in the top three and score at least 8,350 points to qualify.
