Democrats in Cayuga County have selected Dia Carabajal to serve as party chair moving forward.
Less than two weeks ago Ian Phillips announced that he would resign from the post before the new election cycle got moving.
One other person expressed interest in the post- David McKeon, an Auburn resident. However, he did not receive enough support to be elected.
“I’m humbled by the trust and I’m ready to get to work,” Carabajal told The Citizen after the vote was official. “I feel that I have a realistic understanding of the commitment that it is, the time commitment and the energy commitment.”
