Cayuga County health officials urge residents to keep wearing masks indoors

The Cayuga County Health Department is breaking with New York State- urging local residents to wear masks when in public, indoor settings.

While the state has eased its mask mandate- the Cayuga County Health Department is urging residents to wear masks indoors where they do not know the vaccination status of others.

As of Friday, 43% of Cayuga County residents had received the vaccinate- while nearly 48% had received one dose of it.

There’s been a steady decline of new cases of COVID-19 over the last month in local communities. However, health officials are still urging caution.
