Nursing home workers can skip COVID tests if they’ve been vaccinated

There’s a new incentive for nursing home workers to get vaccinated.

Days after it was reported that the state is having trouble vaccinating workers at some of the hardest hit facilities in New York following a tough year with COVID-19- news broke that fully-vaccinated workers will no longer need to get COVID tested twice a week.

That has been a standing practice for most of the pandemic- since several outbreaks left thousands of nursing home residents dead.

Unvaccinated workers are still required to get tested, and all employees will still need to be screened every shift.

Residents will be screened daily.
