A Dundee woman was found guilty of killing her young son nearly two decades ago.
A jury deliberated for approximately two hours, finding Kelly Anderson, 43, guilty of second-degree murder.
The trial started on June 1.
Sheriff Ron Spike said after new leads were developed in 2018 charges were eventually brought against Anderson, who was named Kelly Axtell at the time of the killing.
Spike also noted that Anderson, 24 at the time, found Ethan Eslick dead in August 2002. After an autopsy, the cause of death was ruled a homicide by asphyxiation.
No arrests were made at the time, which turned the case cold. Now, nearly 20 years later- an outcome to that investigation.
Sentencing will take place at a future date.
