Dia Carabajal is running to become chair of the Cayuga County Democratic committee, and if she wins she will be replacing Ian Phillips who announced his resignation on June 15th.
Carabajal’s experiences include being on the Auburn school board, being city councilor, being a delegate for President Joe Biden at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, and she has run for state Assembly.
Carabajal hopes to finish what Phillips started after working with him and thinks bringing her administrative experience to the committee will be beneficial.
Carabajal is running against David McKeon, and while he has a Democratic history, he is not currently on the committee like she is.
