While New York State has legalized the adult recreational use of marijuana, it cannot be used on the campuses of any SUNY or CUNY schools.
The use is continuing to be prohibited because it is still illegal to use on a federal level. This applies to all colleges across NYS.
Congress has been considering legal recreational marijuana use but White House officials said in April that President Joe Biden doesn’t support full legalization.
Despite the use of marijuana being prohibited on campuses, universities are still creating courses that will prepare students for the industry.
