Sodus motorcyclist airlifted to Strong after crash where bike comes to rest on top of him

Deputies say a motorcyclist was airlifted after a crash on Maple Street Road in Lyons on Sunday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. when James Wright, 67, of Sodus was headed north on Maple Street Road.

Deputies say Wright lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to travel off the east side of the roadway, overturning, and coming to rest on top of him.

Wright suffered several injuries to his head and arms- and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.

No other information was available Monday morning on his condition.

The Lyons Fire Department was assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
