Sgt. Jason Lanphear and Corrections Officer Susan Warne named officers of the year

On Wednesday’s Seneca County sheriff’s office awards ceremony, Sgt. Jason Lanphear and Corrections Officer Susan Warne were named officers of the year, according to an article written by the Finger Lakes Times.

Last December a man pointed a loaded shotgun at officers and Lanphear received a commendation for his action during the situation. Sheriff Tim Luce and Undersheriff John Cleere said he kept calm and showed bravery despite hostile conditions and ultimately let to a peaceful conclusion.

Warne was recognized for her service and dedication to the sheriff’s office and her contributions to the corrections academy.

Due to the ceremony not happening last year, the ceremony covered the sheriff’s office highlights for the years of 2019 and 2020.
