Destiny USA updates its Parental Escort Policy

Beginning Friday, June 4, any youth aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult after 6 p.m. everyday of the week at Regal Cinemas in Destiny USA.

Destiny USA said in a press release that the changes to the Parental Escort Policy put back in place in February will remain in place and be enforced.

“Our efforts with this policy to ensure all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience have been embraced by our tenants and guests,” Rob Schoeneck, Destiny USA General Manager, told CNYCentral.

“We’re incredibly thankful for the tireless efforts by our security team, community partners and local law enforcement agencies that make Destiny USA a year-round family-friendly destination,” Schoeneck said.

This policy mandates that anyone under age 17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 and older every day of the week. This updated policy also gives the Syracuse Police Department greater authority to arrest and hold juvenile offenders accountable for violating Destiny USA’s Rules of Conduct.

With summer beginning and school ending, Destiny USA wanted to remind parents of this policy.

The policy was first implemented by Destiny USA in 2003 as part of the center’s comprehensive safety protocols. In addition to the policy, Destiny USA has made space on their 5th floor to be utilized by the Syracuse Police Department’s officers on-site to give them a more functional work area.
