Police say one person is in custody after a person was held against their will at a residence on Perrine St. in Auburn for three days.
On Tuesday, officers were sent to 105 Perrine St. to check the welfare of a resident after that person had missed several medical appointments.
Officers heard a call for help from inside the residence and called for the Auburn Fire Department and TLC Ambulance to assist with what they thought was a medical distress call.
After forcing entry into the house, they discovered it was a domestic incident- where the victim had been held against their will for three days.
The suspect, identified as Mark Stopyra, 40, fled to the back of the house and barricaded himself in a bedroom. A Crisis Negotiation Team and Emergency Response Team were called to the scene to assist- and a short time later Stopyra was taken into custody.
He was charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment. The investigation remains active. Anyone with information that could help is asked to call 315-255-4706 or email [email protected].
