Police: Man faces felony charges after violating order of protection

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 1st, 2021 Samuel Eckert, 32, of Waterloo was arrested and charged with one count of criminal contempt in the first degree and one count of aggravated family offense, both felonies. 

It is alleged that Eckert violated an active stay away order of protection issued by Waterloo Town Court. 


Eckert has previously been convicted of criminal contempt in the second degree within the last five years which elevates these charges to felony offenses. 

He will be arraigned at a later date.
