Voters in South Seneca approve budget, elect BOE members

Voters in the South Seneca Central School District approved all budget items that were on the ballot on Tuesday.

Here’s how it broke down:

Expenditure Budget 267 Yes, 34 No (89%)
Library Proposition 262 Yes, 38 No (87%)
Bus Purchase Proposition 264 Yes, 36 No (88%)


As for the race for four open Board of Education seats, it worked out like this:

– Ralph Malvik (209) and Adam Prentice (193) were elected to three year terms on the Board of Education.
– Peter Jennings (191) was elected to a two-year term.
– Mary Ose (169) was elected to a one-year term.
– Mary Church (150) was not elected.

“We are very grateful to all those who came out to vote, and for the strong consistent support of the South Seneca community for our schools,” Superintendent Steve Zielinski said in an email to media.
