The Buffalo Bisons thumped the Red Wings, 12-0, Wednesday night in Trenton, NJ.
Half of Buffalo’s runs were accounted for on two swings of the bat: a Logan Warmoth two-run homer in the second inning and a Christian Colon grand slam in the sixth frame.
Six of the nine hitters in the Bisons lineup had multiple hits.
Starter Ben Braymer suffered the loss for the Red Wings allowing five runs on three hits and four walks over 2 2/3 innings.
After a 12-strikeout performance in his season debut, Bisons starter Alex Manoah allowed just one hit over six innings with five strikeouts. The Wings first hit didn’t come until an Adrian Sanchez double to lead off the sixth inning. Manoah spent last season at Frontier Field as a part of the Blue Jays Alternate Training Site.
Jake Noll collected a ninth inning double for the Red Wings (2-6) to extend his hit streak to a team-high four games.
The lone bright spot on the evening was Red Wings reliever Bryan Bonnell who tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings to lower his season ERA to 1.50.
The Wings and Bisons continue their week-long, six-game series from Trenton on Thursday night. RHP Rogelio Armenteros makes his second start of the season for Rochester.
