Traffic stop in Seneca Falls leads to drug charges, violations

Police say a 51-year-old Seneca Falls man was arrested on a number of charges after an incident on May 5.

According to police, Stephen Jones, 51, of Geneva was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, inadequate stop lamps, no tail lamps, unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, operating while registration suspended, failure to surrender plates, and other traffic infractions after the stop on Rt. 5.


The traffic stop was initiated for an equipment violation, upon further investigation it was found that Jones was operating a suspended vehicle without any insurance.

Jones was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
