Suspensions for corrections officers in Ontario County follow investigation

Two corrections officers at the Ontario County Jail have been suspended amid an investigation into alleged criminal or public corruption concluded.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley, who was appointed special prosecutor in the investigation- recommended the suspensions following the investigation, according to Finger Lakes News Radio.

The allegations dated back to when Sheriff Phil Povero held office; and do not involve excessive force.

Sheriff Kevin Henderson tells Finger Lakes News Radio that it’s now being handled as a personnel matter.
