Clyde man accused of trying to lure teens walking to school, charged with stalking

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Clyde man on two charges following an investigation into a string of incidents in recent days.

Alejandro Villarreal, 30, of Clyde, who is a registered sex offender according to deputies, is accused of approaching young teenage girls and trying to lure them into his vehicle as they were walking to school.

On Thursday around 7:22 a.m. it’s reported that he approached a young female victim and tried to lure her into his vehicle near the intersection of Frederick and Lock streets in Clyde.

The school resource officer responded along with deputies and found Villarreal exiting his apartment building, where he was taken into custody.

He was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and stalking.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
