Catering companies are excited about the news that one major restriction will be lifted for them in a matter of weeks.
On Wednesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that on May 17 there would be no curfew on catered events, a rule that had persisted through most of the pandemic to prevent large gatherings from taking place.
This who attend large catered events will need to show proof of vaccination status or a recent negative COVID-19 test, but curfews on restaurants, bars, and catering businesses were viewed as largely unnecessary.
By May 31 all restrictions will be lifted on catered events no matter where they are taking place. The change will happen just in time for the unofficial kickoff of summer.
