Syracuse to face Virginia Tech in opening round of ACC women’s lacrosse tournament

Syracuse secured the No. 2 seed in next week’s ACC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament with its victory against Boston College on Saturday afternoon. The Orange will take on Virginia Tech in the first round on Wednesday, April 28 at 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Orange posted an 8-2 record in league play this season. Syracuse tied Boston College for second place in the regular-season standings but earned the No. 2 seed on goal differential. The Orange enter the ACC Tournament with a 12-2 overall record. Syracuse is ranked No. 3 in both the IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse media polls and are No. 2 in the latest RPI.

Syracuse and No. 7 seed Virginia Tech (5-10, 1-8) met on March 27 in the Carrier Dome. The Hokies led 7-5 with 3:34 left in the first half, but the Orange scored twice to tie the score at halftime. Syracuse continued its scoring run after intermission with seven straight goals on its way to a 17-10 victory.

The winner of the Syracuse-Virginia Tech match up will take on the winner between Boston College and Virginia on Friday, April 30 at 2:30 p.m. in the second semifinal. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, May 2 at noon. All games will be broadcast on ACC Network.

Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each game or after the conclusion of the preceding game. Face masks are required and social distancing will be enforced.

All Session passes are $20 for adults and $10 for Youth (age 7-17), Seniors (age 55+). Individual session tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for Youth (age 7-17) and Seniors (age 55+). Admission is free for children 6 and under.
