Where should COVID-19 PPE be disposed? Littering increases as masks become everyday wear

City officials are asking residents to not litter their personal protective equipment, as reports grow throughout the region of masks, gloves, and other items being found along streets and sidewalks.

“Some in the community have noticed that the PPE used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is being littered within our community,” the city said in a Facebook post. “Thank you for your help to keep everyone safe during this pandemic by using PPE, but please dispose of the PPE appropriately.”

They shared a visual aid to help those that are uncertain about what can be recycled, or what can be trashed.
