New York State Police are investigating a boating accident that happened Wednesday in Tompkins County.
According to police, one boat was struck by another from behind while out on the water.
Two people were sent to the hospital. The boat accident occurred a little after 1 p.m., according to police, who say that it happened near Myers Park in Lansing.
The Ithaca Fire Department and Lansing Fire Department both responded to the scene.
A 65-year-old was airlifted to a hospital in Syracuse, while a 72-year-old was transported to the Cayuga Medical Center.
Both were in the boat that was struck from behind.
The other two occupants of the boat that struck the other were not injured.
