Top disease control officials in China are saying that their vaccines for COVID-19 do not have high-effecacy.
The news comes after Beijing distributed hundreds of millions of doses abroad, and simultaneously promoted doubt about the effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
“It’s now under formal consideration whether we should use different vaccines from different technical lines for the immunization process,” Gao at a conference, which was reported by the AP.
mRNA vaccines have entered clinical trial stages in China. It’s unclear when they might be authorized for use.
