Canandaigua creates outdoor dining space downtown to run through October

The city of Canandaigua is moving forward with an outdoor dining plan.

Last fall the City allowed restaurants to open up outdoor dining space.

Now, it’s becoming permanent- and just in time for the warm months.

A parking lot between Simply Crepes and the Chamber of Commerce was used to be “The Central on Main,” which was widely popular. It prompted the city to look at continued use of that space.

City Council says that they will try it again- with this season running from April through October. One major upshot, according to officials, is that it makes the space look less like a parking lot, something that appeals to those who want to see cities like Canandaigua become more walkable and pedestrian friendly.
