U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer made a stop at a Victor bar talking about the American Rescue Plan.
Restaurants and bars, which include tasting and tap rooms can apply for direct assistance as part of that sweeping deal.
There are $28.6 billion in grants available at this point.
That in addition to the Paycheck Protection Program. “Now, there is money,” Schumer said. “And it’s very flexible. It can pay payroll, and mortgage, and rent, and outdoor seating, and paid leave, and food, and death. And this applies not only to restaurants but the caterers, brewpubs, taprooms, tasting rooms—this applies to our wineries.”
The Small Business Administration is distributing the funds.
He was at the Thirsty Turtle Bar and Grill in Victor.
