Some major work is getting underway in Auburn.
It’s happening along South St. in the city, and is one of the most-anticipated infrastructure projects slated for 2021.
It begins this week and will include replacement of the Wood Brook culvert, the water main under the road with a new and larger water main, storm and sanitary sewer service installations, reconstruction of the roadway, replacement and extension of existing sidewalk and curbing, as well as installation of new street lights and trees.
It should be completed by the time the construction season ends.
The detour through the area will begin on Monday and likely continue throughout the project. Local traffic will be permitted.
