Ithaca opts to close Aurora St. to vehicle traffic so restaurants can grow outdoor dining

Like Geneva, Ithaca has opted to close driving traffic down a popular street to expand outdoor dining options for businesses along that route.

North Aurora St. will close to vehicle traffic this week to allow restaurants to extend their outdoor dining areas.

The city has dubbed it the ‘Aurora Streatery’.

Restaurants participating in the Streatery include Luna Inspired Street Food, Red’s Place, Mahogany Grill, and Simeon’s American Bistro.

The vehicle traffic closure will last through mid-fall when temperatures fall back.
