Why is there an expiration date on your COVID-19 vaccine card?
If you’ve received your first- or second- dose of the shot- then you know what we’re talking about. If not, then you will when your vaccine appointment comes around.
Some have reported having an expiration date of June or July on those cards. News10NBC looked into this in their most-recent Good Question segment.
Those expiration dates represent one- of two things. The amount of time protection lasts, or the amount of time that the vaccine itself is good for- similar to a shelf-life sticker at the grocery store.
What does that mean after the expiration date passes? That’s a tougher question to answer. One that state health officials aren’t certain about.
