Deputies say a Lyons man was taken into custody after a pursuit in Wayne County that ended in the village of Palmyra.
It happened Sunday a little after 11:30 p.m. when a traffic stop was initiated in the town of Williamson.
The driver, identified as Jeremy Richardson, 47, of Lyons was ultimately charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, obstructing government administration, resisting arrest, as well as a number of traffic violations.
It’s alleged that Richardson failed to yield to police after a marked patrol vehicle initiated emergency lights and sirens in the town of Williamson.
He was involved in a collision, which caused the vehicle pursuit to end- but Richardson fled on foot. Deputies say that after he was taken into custody over 11 grams of a controlled substance, and more than 16 ounces of marijuana were recovered.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
