Phelps wine bar reopens after wall collapses into Flint Creek Falls on Christmas Day

Don Miller says it wasn’t easy- but the Waterside Wine Bar and Bistro on Rt. 96 in Phelps is open for business.

Again.

On Christmas Day a wall collapsed in the basement- exposing the inside of the building to Flint Creek Falls.

It took several months to fix the wall, but the job has been done. “We laid down rebar all throughout the opening that was five yards of concrete to fill that void,” Miller told Spectrum News.

He says that because of the generosity and committment of the community- they were able to reopen. A GoFundMe was a big part of the puzzle.

There is still some work to do on-site, but the heavy lifting has been completed.
