CDC expected to change school distancing guidance from 6 to 3 feet

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to make changes to the social distancing guidance it provided for schools earlier in the pandemic.

Instead of six feet of distance between desks- the CDC is expected to lower it to three.

Health experts are pointing to a study from Massachusetts that showed no significant difference in transmission rates at schools that used three feet of space.

The decision could be publicized on Friday. It could also mean that more schools in the region could bring students back- if that were the case.
