With Wayne trailing late, senior Tyler Reynolds inbounded to junior Mason Blakenberg who hit a pull up jumper shot from the left elbow with 7.8 seconds remaining to defeat Batavia and give Eagles their third sectional title in five years. The 56-55 win in Friday night’s Section V Class B1 Championship Game at Wayne High School in Ontario caps an undefeated season for head coach Bill Thompson’s squad representing the Finger Lakes East.

Blankenberg scored six points in the fourth-quarter to finish with a game-high 23. Tyler Reynolds scored 18 points, 10 in the third quarter, while Devon Forrest added 8 and Eli Schichtel added 6. For Batavia, senior Stone Siverling scored 21 points and Zach Gilebarto had 18.
