Geneva driver flees police in stolen vehicle, travels through back yards before getting stuck

The Geneva Police Department reports the arrest of a 35-year-old following an investigation into a stolen vehicle in the area of White Springs Lane.

Police say the vehicle was reported stolen out of Seneca County, but seen in the White Springs Lane area in Geneva.

The vehicle had a GPS tracking device, which allowed the owner to know its whereabouts. Geneva police spotted the vehicle on Hamilton St., turning onto Spring St.

They attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, which was operated by 35-year-old Tyler Kurlas, of Geneva- but it evaded. The car traveled through several back yards in the residential area before becoming stuck in a hedgerow. The operator was taken into custody a criminal possession of stolen property charge, as well as a count of unlicensed operation.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
