Syracuse announces return of fans to Carrier Dome starting Saturday

Syracuse University will host a small number of student fans when the Orange men’s lacrosse team hosts Vermont on Saturday, March 6 (1 pm, ACC Network Extra). Attendance will be limited to 900 students, per New York State guidelines.  Priority will be given to students who are already season ticket holders, all of whom will be required to test negative for COVID-19 within 24 hours of the event as well as an additional 15-minute rapid test immediately prior to entry.

“We are grateful to everyone who worked with us to get to this point that we can invite students to attend our men’s lacrosse game and to see the stadium renovations for the first time in person,” said Director of Athletics John Wildhack. “Having students back for the first time in over a year will provide a boost for the student body, including our student-athletes. We appreciate the support of Onondaga County and New York State and their continued guidance in these unprecedented times.”

Student season ticket holders will receive an email with details regarding ticket reservations and protocols. Students will sit in the lower level of the Dome in groupings of one to four people per seating pod and the pods will be socially distanced with nine feet between each pod. All students must wear a face covering at all times. While concessions stand will not be in operation, water will be available to students at no charge. Tickets are non-transferrable, and a valid Syracuse University ID will be required for entrance into the Dome.

The event is the first step to provide an opportunity for the University and local officials to evaluate the process of having fans attend games in a safe manner so that we can welcome members of the general public back to Syracuse Athletics’ events.
