Deputies say a Newark driver was sent to the hospital following a one-car crash in Wayne County this week.
The crash happened a little before midnight on Tuesday, according to deputies, who say that Consuello Dewolf was headed west on State Rt. 31, approaching an intersection with Vienna St. when the 48-year-old lost control of the vehicle.
It traveled off the north side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and came to rest on its roof.
She was entrapped and had to be extricated by the Palmyra Fire Department. Deputies say Dewolf was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with head and shoulder injuries.
Through investigation, it was determined that alcohol was a contributing factor of the accident. Wolf refused to provide a blood sample. However, the investigation remains active at this time.
