What’s next for the Ontario County Landfill?
Well, elected leaders are mulling over the future, particularly the days after the 386-acre facility in the town of Seneca is shut down.
Ontario County’s plan expires in 2023 and will have to be renewed. Specifically, officials say they will focus on a new five-year strategic plan.
At this point, only about 10% of Ontario County’s waste goes to the facility on 5&20. The strategic plan will address where that remaining waste will go after closure happens.
