Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday police were called to a stabbing, which happened in the city of Ithaca.
It was the second serious incident in the last two days that occurred on Cascadilla St.
The first officers on-scene located a male victim who suffered a stab wound to his torso. The victim was treated on scene by Bangs Ambulance and Ithaca Fire Department personnel. He was not identified, but police noted that the victim was airlifted to a regional trauma center.
The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Because of the severity of the injuries the victim was not able to provide officers with a suspect description at the scene. It’s believed that the victim and suspect knew each other.
Police say the investigation remains open and active. Anyone who was in the area is asked to call 607-272-3445.
