Newark driver charged with DWI after crash on Rt. 414

Deputies say a 65-year-old Newark man was taken into custody after a one-car crash on Rt. 414 in Rose.

John Curry, 65, of Newark was charged with DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.08%, and moving from lane unsafely.

The charges stem from investigation into that crash, where Curry exited the road and struck a telephone pole. It happened Wednesday around 7:30 p.m.

Curry sustained minor injuries, but was found intoxicated during investigation. When his BAC was tested – it was found to be 0.13%.

Curry was released on traffic tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
