Lawmakers call for opening up of U.S.-Canada border

A number of local representatives are calling for travel restrictions to be eased between the U.S. and Canada.

Representatives Tom Reed, John Katko, Chris Jacobs, and Elise Stefanik are among 24 Congressional lawmakers who want to see travel restrictions lifted at the northern border.

This border closure has a big impact on New York’s economy.

The non-essential travel ban went into effect March 20, 2020.

The lawmakers are also calling for a better plan to prioritize testing.
